Why the city pickup won't clear your basement
Denver's Large Item Pickup is free, but it can't do a cleanout. It comes once every nine weeks, caps out at five large items, and is curbside only — so a basement full of thirty things you'd have to haul up the stairs and pile at the street yourself is a non-starter. And it flatly excludes appliances, electronics, and tires, which means the old basement fridge, the tube TV in the attic, and the dead treadmill aren't eligible at all.
