Only within tight limits that rarely fit a real furniture clear-out. Denver's free Large Item Pickup (scheduled through Denver 311 · 720-913-1311) will take furniture, but it runs about once every nine weeks on your zone's rotating schedule, caps you at five large items per pickup, and is curbside-only — you carry every piece out to the curb yourself. Here's where it falls apart: a single dining set — a table and six chairs — is already seven items, past the five-item cap in one go. Clear a bedroom or a home office and you're well over it. It also only serves Denver city trash customers, so apartment buildings and the surrounding suburbs often aren't on it at all. We lead with donation, because a solid dresser or dining set shouldn't end up buried. Usable pieces go to Goodwill of Colorado, ARC Thrift Stores, and Habitat for Humanity ReStore — all common across the metro — and we'll get you a tax receipt on request. What's broken or unsellable is broken down so the wood and metal get diverted and only the remainder is disposed.
