People ask, fairly, whether the city can just take it for free. Denver's Large Item Pickup is real but it doesn't fit a move-out: it comes only about once every nine weeks, takes five large items at the curb, and excludes appliances, electronics, and tires. On a relocation you don't have nine weeks — you have a lease date — and the things most likely to be left behind (the fridge, the mattress, the old TV) are precisely what it won't take. A mattress can't even go to the curb for regular Denver trash.
